Abstract：Wu Jie，an army general of importance in resisting the Jin people’S invasion at the

early stage of South Song dynasty， died not of whore-indulging nor drug·taking， but of viscera

verminosis， and the records an d comments in History of Song Dynasty is， therefore， fairly

misleading．
